There are many ways to tell if you’re putting someone on a pedestal, and I’m going to share with you several things you can do to take them off it and have them chase YOU instead, including a very powerful imagining session or meditation you can do. But let’s start at the beginning:
The number one thing that shows you’ve put someone on a pedestal is when you feel that you need to be constantly available for them. Do you feel you have to run and do whatever they asked you to do all the time? Even when they haven’t been in touch for a while? Do they call you in the middle of the night and you think you have to stay up and talk to them even if you have to wake up early in the morning? Are you always at their beck and call?
Then you’ve clearly put them on a pedestal and made them more important than you. You made their needs, their thoughts, their opinions, everything about them more important than you.
