We did not plan an excursion in Mazatlan so we decided to go ashore and do a little of our own exploring. If you are on a Carnival cruise, or any cruise, or just visiting Mazatlan, you will definitely find some great ideas of things to do while you are there. We spent very little $$ on this day as most of the things we did were either pretty cheap or free, so if you are on a budget don't worry because there is plenty you can do in Mazatlan. After this day, I would've personally preferred to have gone on an excursion as Mazatlan was probably my least favorite port, however we did make the best of it!
