Ronald Darrin Hale – Eulogy

Opening
“Only a moment you stayed, but what an imprint your footprints have left on our hearts.” Little Footprints, Dorothy Ferguson, poet

The Early Life
Ronald Darrin Hale was born in Aberdeen, WA to Gordon Ronald Hale and Emma Jane Davis (Hale) on July 26th, 1966. He was the fourth of six children. He grew up in a hardworking family, working in mills, and learning the knowledge that would help him throughout his life.

Ron had many strong influences in his life that shaped him into the person he was. He was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of two; he did not let this diagnosis hold him back or used the illness as an excuse. He lost his older brother, Donald, in a tragic accident when he was 12 years of age. This loss impacted him greatly over the course of his life. The loss of his brother helped him know that every day is a blessing and how much his family means to him. He learned a lot from the people around him, but especially from his father and grandfather Gordon, who taught him many tools and knowledge that would help him in his future endeavors.

Marriage and Family
Ron started dating Lynn Albano in 1990. They were married in Aberdeen, WA on July 6th, 1991. At the time of Ron’s passing they were married for a total of 28 years. Ron and Lynn welcomed their first child, Ashley Johns (Hale) into their little family on November 26th, 1991. They welcomed their second child, Alisha Wood (Hale) into the world on March 13th, 1997. Ron loved all three of his girls (Lynn, Ashley, and Alisha) so very much.

Ron became a grandfather on November 9th, 2010 to Kyleigh Hale, Ashley Hale’s, first child. He had a total of four grandchildren: Kyleigh (9), Kayeson (6), Kamdyn (3), and Liam (1). He loved his grandchildren so much and gave them so many wonderful memories to hold onto for the rest of their lives and will continue to carry on his great legacy.

Career
Ron had many qualifications in construction, other hard labor jobs, iron work, and auto body. He worked in various mills in Washington State and Oregon. He was also an employee at Quiggs before starting his own construction business. He founded Hale Construction in 1997. He worked across Western Washington doing remodeling and industrial and residential construction, as well as millwrighting. He not only created wonderful work but developed many friend and family relationships with his clients and loved helping them over the years. He worked in his contracting business until he closed the business in December of 2018, after his illness made him no longer able to keep the business going.

Memories
Ron made an impact on many individuals’ lives. He had an amazing personality and kind heart. He was such a selfless person and helped so many people. Ron wants to be remembered as a hardworking, kind, honest, and family man. He enjoyed making everyone laugh and smile; it made him feel good knowing others could feel his warm and welcoming energy as well.

Ending
At the end of Ron’s life, he was battling illness but always still smiled and was grateful to be around his family. He appreciated being able to watch another one of his grandchildren come into the world, grandchildren’s sporting events, and other family functions. When he passed away on November 25th, 2019, he was surrounded by his loved ones that continued to love and support him throughout his life and his sickness.
