Cyclone Kyarr takes form as deep depression intensifies, to bring heavy rains in Karnataka

The Deep Depression over East-central Arabian Sea has been moving in northerly direction with a slow speed of around 4 to 5 kmph. Today, at 5:30 IST, the Deep Depression has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm ‘Kyarr’.

At present, its located near latitude 16’N and 71.3’ E, about 240 km West-Southwest of Ratnagiri, 380 km South-southwest of Mumbai and 1850 kms East-southeast of Salalah (Oman).
