People who eat more vegetarian but not vegetarian diets are 16% more likely to have heart disease. A total of 12,168 middle-aged individuals were included in the research. They examined their eating habits. Of these, 5436 died of which 1565 died of heart disease. Research by the Rubicon Project found that people who ate meat were 31-32% more likely to have heart disease and 18 - 25% more disease than those who ate vegetarian foods.
