Rescued flying-fox immediate care: this is Nellie

Rescued flying-fox immediate care: this is Nellie Nellie is a juvenile female (16 weeks) Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who was hooked up on barbed wire by her belly.
To get the barbs out of her belly without damaging anything internally, I took her to the vet and unhooked her in a controlled situation (not perched on top of a ladder) while she was anaesthetised.
I managed to get the barbs out without puncturing her peritoneum. Initially I decided I wanted the wound left open so it could drain, but she started peeing and pooing into it so I took her back on day 2 and had it stitched.
This video shows bits of her care during the first day and evening.

The good news is she's doing well and is likely to be OK longterm after her belly heals YAY.
