My good friend is concerned that people aren't interested enough in local body politics and thought she'd make some points on video to try encourage people to get out and vote. She declined to be on video but her voice and message is what's important.
Local elections coming up and most won't even vote or care less about voting because they think they either can't change anything, can't see the point, lack interest, politics isn't for them, my single vote makes no difference, no matter who you vote for the same crap happens.
Well this kind of thinking is a gift to local politicians who want to be voted in on lack of knowledge from the local electorate.
The more knowledge you have the more informed choice you can make and vote in the right candidate for your area.
Time to get interested or else labour or the greens could sweep the board across the country with the amount of candidates they're putting out.
And for me anyway; the last thing New Zealand wants is labour controlled councils and God forbid labour winning another term in government next year.
