Worlds Apart: How Immigration Laws Are Keeping One Family Apart | Kashopé Speaks As immigration laws become more and more problematic for migrant families in the United States, the Sevilla family says that they will continue to do everything in their power to see fairness when it comes to family separation.

For Carmen Sevilla, mother of four, family separation hits close to home. Her two sons who have lived in the U.S. for more than half of their lives have been deported for minor crimes such as unpaid tickets. Sevilla has been on a mission to see her sons return ever since, but with the Trump administration making it harder for immigrants to come to the U.S. the family is at a stand still.

This interview gives the perspectives of Carmen and her daughter, Jennifer, as well as one of her two deported sons, Erik. They speak about what it is like to be separated and what they believe needs to change.
