In Depth: Black Hole

The world will today saw the first ever true image of a black hole.

The shape of the mysterious, region of the space-time fabric that has fueled human imagination and inspired numerous sci-fi movies and literature for generations, was revealed.

The landmark moment for science and technology has been made possible by the Event Horizon Telescope, that is actually an array of telescopes spread out across the Earth.

Scientists released image of super-massive black hole at press conferences simultaneously in Shanghai, Taipei, Tokyo, Washington, Brussels and Santiago.
