Renting a Self Storage Unit at Extra Space Storage: What to Expect

Making an online reservation is the first step to storing your belongings at Extra Space Storage. When you arrive at our facility, a team member will be there to greet you with a smile and help you finalize your lease.

You’ll need to bring:

• A driver’s license or another form of identification.
• Contact information for anyone who will need access to the unit.
• Proof of registration and auto insurance (if storing a vehicle).

The team member will then take you to your storage unit to ensure it’s the right size and location for your needs. Then, you’ll return to the office to complete your registration, pay the one-time administration fee, and set up the required insurance policy.

Extra Space Storage has push carts and dollies available at most locations for you to use to transport items into your self storage unit. You can also purchase any other items you’ll need, including but not limited to:

• Locks (We recommend disc or cylinder)
• Boxes
• Packing tape
• Furniture covers
