Love Is Not Blind

Love is not blind because love is based on understanding and acceptance, so It seems that people classify love as being blind to excuse their partners toxic behavior. This is prevalent in old Hollywood love stories or movies that depict relationships full of abuse. They feel that because their partner "loves them," they have to put up with this abuse; it seems they are blinded by something else while using love as the excuse.

Also, this blinding notion may be used as a tool of idealization to disregard the part of their partner they won't accept, while focusing directly on who they desire them to be. It can be their partners attitude, height, looks, lack of money, etc. Idealization, while used in this manner, counters the true nature of an unconditional love state based on acceptance.
