WATCH: Rep. Gaetz argues against ‘abuse of power’ impeachment article | Trump impeachment hearings Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., argued against the article of impeachment that accuses President Donald Trump of abusing his power. Republicans offered an amendment to remove the “abuse of power" article during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Dec. 12 where lawmakers considered revisions to the articles of impeachment and voted on whether to send those articles to the full U.S. House of Representatives. “This abuse of power that they allege in the impeachment theory is a total joke,” Gaetz said. Democrats on Tuesday filed two articles of impeachment against Trump -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
