Te Wharau School Mud Run

Te Wharau School Mud Run It was a case of mud, glorious mud to mark the end of year at Te Wharau School on Thursday, with about 500 children taking part in a mud run.

Senior teacher Holly Leighton said this was the second year the school had organised the event.

'Last year we did it instead of our cross-country but this year we decided to do it as the final activity.

‘We had a special group of children who designed the course and they came up with all the obstacles.'

That included the obligatory mud pit, along with a slippery slide, a spiral tunnel and inflatable obstacle course, a rock wall and tyres.

'It was a great day, with lots of whanau and teachers also taking part.,' Mrs Leighton said.
