In this first episode of SBC INSIDER, Lopez and Littleton take a close look at the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, or ERLC. This episode breaks down into three segments: (1) What the ERLC is and where it came from, (2) What Lopez and Littleton have documented in terms of the ERLC's problematic practices in dealing with people who disagree with them, and (3) the conflicts of interest that exist in the ERLC's troubling and opaque connections to outside entities like the And Campaign, the Alliance for Lasting Liberty, the American Unity Fund, and the Human Rights Campaign. This is an excellent primer in the recent history of the ERLC's controversial status within the Southern Baptist world.
