Dr. William Taylor is exploring the Altai Mountains, now covered with snow, though that’s melting quickly. Materials emerge when the ice melts, frozen in time for centuries, sometimes thousands of years.


But it’s not just history that’s being lost. The Mongolian way of life for herders rely on these ice patches.
