This year New Rochelle TheatreWorks will present the world premier High School performance of Head Over Heels, a new musical. Featuring the music of The Gogos, this modern musical tells the story of Arcadia, and what happens when the gods decide that being basic is out of style. Auditions will be held on November 19th and 20th at 3:30 in room 410. To be great we need you! So, here is a quick run down of the characters in our story.
Basilius, a comical king who has a secret that he will go to great lengths to hide.
Gynecia, the queen, so smart that she suspects that something is up.
Pamela, the eccentric princess looking for love who believes she is the fairest of all women.
Mopsa, Pamela’s maid who knows exactly what Mopsa needs.
Demetas, the kings loyal sidekick and mops father.
Philoclea the younger princess, innocent and in love with a common sheep herder.
Musidorius, the sheep herder who will do whatever it takes to be with Philoclea.
Pythio, a genderless and raceless oracle who predicts that life is about to get interesting for the people of Arcadia.
And, we can’t forget to mention the chorus, and this year we will have both a singing chorus and dancing chorus, so dancers… no singing is necessary! Come be part of our world premier.
Auditions will be held on November 19th and 20th at 3:30 in room 410. Please come with 16 to 32 bars of music, and if you don’t have a song feel free to prepare a song from the show. Please join our Google Classroom (hi5urw0), where you can download the soundtrack and receive updates.
