Vacations are not all about the trip anymore, the place where you stay at night also has a large impact
on whether your vacation is a good one or a bad one. Today, we will be looking at 10 of the most
amazing hotel rooms in the world. If you like to sleep with a little bit of danger, make sure you stay
tuned until number 1.

Number 10. Premium Deluxe Arctic Spas Suite, Hotel de Glace, Canada
Often wondered how it feels to live life sub-zero? Well wonder no more, because at Canada’s Hotel de
Glace you can spend the night in a specially created artisan ice hotel, painstakingly rebuilt with a new
unique design each winter.
Jacques Desbois, the founder of the Hôtel de Glace, has always been passionate about winter and the
snow. He was even nicknamed Mr. Igloo after establishing La Piste Desbois, an ecotourism company
operating in the design of interactive igloo villages. In 1996, he became inspired by an article about the
Icehotel in Sweden. Believing that if an ice hotel could be created in Sweden, it could also be done in
Québec, so Desbois traveled to Jukkasjärvi to learn more and meet the creators of the majestic white
structure.
From a fireplace to a private spa, this suite offers a few unique experiences for an icy evening. For the
active guest, the Valcartier Experience includes access to the indoor waterpark and the Adventure
package includes a dogsledding shuttle service in addition to a variety of wintry activities. The Romantic
Getaway is perfect for two, complete with a sparkling ice cider cocktail served in an ice flute.

Number 9. Underwater Suites, Atlantis The Palm, Dubai
Said to have sunk beneath the ocean without a trace, the legend of the lost city of Atlantis is the
inspiration behind this extravagant Dubai hotel, which cost a staggering $1.2 billion and took two years
to build, opening to worldwide fanfare in 2008, with guests including Robert DeNiro and Lily Allen in
attendance.
Located on Palm Jumeirah, an artificial island in the shape of a palm tree, this fully integrated
entertainment resort boasts a 42-acre waterpark including slides that see thrill seekers surrounded by
real-life sharks and rays and also offers the opportunity to scuba dive with dolphins.
Guests at the luxury underwater Neptune and Poseidon Suites have floor-to-ceiling views into the
Ambassador Lagoon, filled with 65,000 marine creatures, which means that, at this hotel at least, it is
very possible to live under the sea.

Number 8. 727 Fuselage, Costa Verde, Costa Rica
Nestled within tropical rainforest, Hotel Costa Verde’s rather unusual Fuselage Suite consists of a
refurbished vintage 1965 Boeing 727 airframe, once part of South Africa Air in a previous life.

The airplane itself was salvaged from the San Jose Airport, where it lay in storage, before it was
transported using big-rig trucks to the jungles of Manuel Antonio. Sitting atop a 50-foot pedestal just
beyond a majestic national park, the remodeled jumbo jet’s interior is entirely Costa Rican teak paneling
with Indonesian teak furniture and also features a private entrance up a river rock.
Unique this idea might be; this is not the first time this was done. Costa Rica hotel management are
quick to admit that they took inspiration from a Forbes magazine article about a company offering
hurricane-proof living quarters using Boeing 727 airframes.
For those who haven’t yet tired of sleeping on aircraft, this unique suite on the edge of the jungles of
Manuel Antonio offers sky high balcony views of the Pacific Ocean as well as the opportunity to spot the
local treetop wildlife, which includes toucans, sloths and monkeys.

Number 7. The UFO, Treehotel, Sweden
The UFO, located in Treehotel, Sweden, was designed to be the most unexpected thing you can
encounter in the forest. And what could possibly be more unexpected than a UFO hovering amongst the
trees?
The room has been cast in a high-strength composite material in order to create a construction that is
light yet as durable as possible. You enter the UFO using an electric, collapsible ladder through a hatch in
the floor. Inside the UFO you are taken to a space-inspired world with a starry sky in the ceiling and an
interior and textiles designed according to the same theme. The room has small windows which let light
in and allow you to look out. Here, you can also feel the UFO move, as it is suspended on wires and
beams connected to the trees.
The UFO has room for five people, with one double bed and three single beds. It is one of our most
popular family rooms, however, it is also suitable for groups of adults, provided that the people sleeping
in the single beds are not very tall.
