‘Game of Thrones’ showrunner duo quit ‘Star Wars’ trilogy deal

David Benioff and D. B. Weiss were originally announced as the writers and producers of the newest film series. The two are now backing out due to a preexisting Netflix deal, citing a lack of time to properly work on both. The deal between the duo and Netflix was for $200 million, and is centered on multiyear, TV and film creation. Despite the split, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said that there were no hard feelings toward the duo.
