Making movies takes a lot of people and a lot of money. That means that there are often ego-driven battles for creative control over the projects, which often leads to stalemates, arguments, and people leaving the projects altogether. The battle for creative control often shoves movies into what’s called “Development Hell.”

Sometimes it can take YEARS to get movies out of development hell— and sometimes they never do. Today we’ll take a look at some movies that have definitely been through development hell, how they got there, as well as if and how they managed to get out. Sometimes things work out great, like in the case of Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool… Other times, you have a “Gambit” situation on your hands. Do you not remember the Gambit movie?
