Needles for Embroidery Machines 📍 What I Use | SEWING REPORT

What types of needles do I use on the embroidery machine? Answering that viewer question in this video. For the most part, I stick to just three. Remember that generally the higher the number for needle size, the larger the needle eye. (ie: 100/16 is bigger and 75/11 is smaller) With thread, the higher the number, the thinner it is. (ie: 60 wt thread thinner and 12 wt thread is thicker)

Ballpoint Needles - Organ 75/11 for most projects (knits, wovens, hats)


Metallic Needles - Klasse 80/12 and 90/14 for metallic / opalescent thread


Microtex Needles - Schmetz 90/14 for fabrics like ripstop nylon, slippery material (think windbreakers)
