A family member to one of the deceased wailed at the scene but was calmed by paramedics.

Rescurers had an hard time for lack of equipment and at one time ropes tied to fork lifts which managed to play part in rescue operations were proven yto be useless.

A victim, 34 year-old Mary Muthoni who lived in the slum was shocked to find her house damaged.

"Thank God, no one was inside the house when the incident took place," She remarked.

The affected houses are situated between industries and the only space left in between is used by workers accessing Industrial Are and residents at the Mukuru-Reli slum.

Two months earlier, in the same company's compound, a crane nearly killed residents situated behind the company's wall after a crane crushed several house roofs. A woman escaped death by a whisker.
