What is in the Voynich Manuscript?
What's the history of the Voynich Manuscript?

Ancient medicine and herbs, possibly North American herbs before Columbus.

The bulk of the Voynich Manuscript is illustrations of plants, smaller sections on astronomical/astronomical imagery, anatomical? illustrations, then plants connected to various types of jars and containers which are very similar to apothecary jars commonly used by the spagyric-alchemists of the period to which it's vellum pages have been dated.
Almost certainly the Voynich is a medicinal-medical text, or at least based on one. The possibility that the undeciphered text is meaningless remains a possibility, but since the letters are not random and retain a pattern of vowels and consonants does make this very unlikely.
