Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is mulling over whether to play Angel Gomes at left-back in the wake of Luke Shaw’s injury. Shaw hobbled out of the Red Devils’ 2-1 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday and is now set to miss the next five weeks due to a hamstring problem. The teenager, who primarily favours his right foot, has flourished in the No 10 position for the club’s academy. But Gomes could be set for a stint in defence as Solskjaer plots a path forward without Shaw in his ranks. Another alternative is Diogo Dalot.
