Causes:
Familial: If you belong to a family in which women have a lot of hair then it is likely that you will have increased hair too.
Hormonal imbalance: Increased testosterone levels can lead to increased hair in androgen dependent areas such as side locks, upper lip, chin, in between breast, lower abdomen and upper thighs.
If you have irregular menses along with thinning of hair in scalp and increased facial hair then you may need to be evaluated for any hormonl imbalances.

Waxing: can lead to acne eruptions, and worsen the skin

Laser hair reduction: remember this is only reduction not removal. It will lighten the hair will grow back but will be thinner and grow slower.
If you have a lot of hair then it is bets to go for laser. But laser is not for all types of hair. It works best if you have thick hair and light skin colour. On the contrary if you have thin hair and darker skin colour then laser may not be the best option for you.
