Russian President Vladimir Putin treated his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan to an ice cream as the leaders took a tour of the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2019, at the Zhukovsky International Airport on Tuesday.

After inspecting some of the newest Russian aviation technology, the presidents made a pit stop at an ice cream parlour.

"Will you pay for me?" the Turkish leader asked Putin. "Yes, I will pay, you are our guest after all," the Russian leader responded.

The 14th MAKS air show runs from August 27 to September 1, and exhibits the latest in aerospace and defence technology from enterprises representing more than 800 international organisations.
