Part 3 - The Pushback - People of SAS

Everyone's journey starts on the Ground.

The final role of our Ground Crew is to manage the pushback. This involves pushing the aircraft with a special pushback tug away from the gate to allow for safe engine startup, also ensuring aircraft fuel savings. The process is supervised by a Ground Dispatcher, who at Oslo airport walks next to the plane. In the winter our Ground Crew also manage the de-icing of all SAS aircraft.
