~ Beyond the Lair
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes days that are meant to be happy can turn the complete opposite in just a snap. Today (at the time of this recording) is my birthday and unfortunately, I woke up to my Psalmopoeus cambridgei (Trinidad Chevron), one of my favourite arboreal tarantula motionless. She molted sideways and was unable to “squeeze” out of the old exoskeleton. Unfortunate, but stuff like this does occasionally happen in the tarantula-keeping hobby.. and out of all the days this could’ve happened, this had to be the day.
If all goes well, I’m most likely going to preserve her as a Wet Specimen, so stay tuned for that video in the near future! It may take several weeks, it may take several months - It all depends on how many videos I have scheduled after this one :)
