Leaning trailer close to falling down cliff in Malibu Hills

Leaning trailer close to falling down cliff in Malibu Hills On August 9, 2019, we received a call to respond to a loaded tractor trailer that "needed to be winched" per the customer. Customers do not always give the best descriptions, but I know the area and know that it was more than likely a simple winch job. I had a medium duty truck respond first to secure the call in case it was something simple, while I took off in our 60-ton rotator.

Upon arrival, it was clear that it was not a simple winch job. The trailer was several feet over the line and leaning pretty bad. This was on a narrow two lane road meant for cars, so we had to block both sides to allow us to work safely.

I positioned the rotator offset to the rear of the trailer since there was limited boom, then secure it from the top using a container link to each winch line. Once secured, the trailer was lifted and brought as close to my truck as possible to allow him to finish the turn and continue on his way.
