How Our City Is Poisoning Us Through Our Desire To Eradicate Weeds

How Our City Is Poisoning Us Through Our Desire To Eradicate Weeds No amount of chemicals will stop weeds from growing, and weed control chemicals are known to cause serious health problems, yet cities spend HUGE money on dangerous weed control efforts destined to fail!!

Recently Calgary started its annual herbicide spray to remove weeds in its parks and boulevards. I have watched this happen year after year and I finally decided to make a video about it. We are all responsible for this and it is time for all of us to take a stand and ask our elected representatives why we spend countless tax dollars to try and solve a problem that can't be solved. It can't be solved because no amount of these chemicals will stop these plants we call weeds from growing. To add insulate to injury, we now know that they cause enormous health issues which is indisputable at this point.

We can't stand by while these toxins are sprayed, we all have a responsibility to make this shift in our own yards, food choices and in the officials we elect to represent us. I encourage you to contact your local Councillor and ask them:

1. Why do we spray these chemicals?
2. What is the annual budget for herbicides in Calgary?
3. What are the metrics they use to determine if they are providing value to Calgarians?

Here is a directory of City Councillors in Calgary (where we live):

I have created a playlist for this video which will provide you with information that you can use to inform yourself and your elected officials about the issues pertaining to these chemicals.
