About Nightcore:
A nightcore edit is a remix track that speeds up its source material, increasing its pitch. Formed in 2002, the name for the internet-based music was originally defined as sped-up and pitch-shifted versions of trance and eurodance songs, but its definition expanded into non-dance territory by the time the remix style became popular in the 2010s. The type of music that started as a subgenre of trance and is still considered so by many people. Indeed, dedicated trance fans usually call it "happy hardcore" to indicate its "similar-but-different" nature. Nightcore is characterized by a sped-up melody (sometimes), fast rhythmic beat (usually), and higher than normal pitch. Almost all nightcore music are original songs nightcored (remixed into nightcore) by nightcore fans.

In December 2017, soon after dropping the 45-track album Heartbreak on a Full Moon, Brown showed that he was already working on new songs teasing a "Michael Jackson-inspired" song on his Instagram profile, filming a video from his studio, playing the song supposedly called "Vampire Vibe". During 2018 he kept on showing some snippets of new unreleased songs, showing that he was working on a collaboration mixtape with Jacquees, on another collaboration mixtape with Joyner Lucas, and on his album, rumored to be called Indigo which he later said will be a 30 track album in reference to his 30th birthday.
