Let’s face it everyone, Tony Stark is no more. Over the last decade, Robert Downey Jr. has entertained us in a way that few superheroes ever have. Just like after 2017’s Logan ended Hugh Jackman’s long run as Wolverine, Avengers: Endgame has brought Iron Man’s journey to a close.
This is going to leave a huge gap in the MCU. How can anyone possibly live up to the legacy of Iron Man. Only one character really has a chance to do so; Spider-Man.
Tom Holland has wowed audiences ever since his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War. Things only got better when he had his own solo film, Spider-Man: Homecoming. That movie truly established him as Tony Stark’s protege and heir apparent. The trend continued in Avengers: Infinity War when Tony made Peter Parker a full fledged member of the Avengers. He ended up getting dusted at the end of that movie but Tony sacrificed his life to save Peter at the end of Avengers: Endgame.
The next Marvel movie to follow Endgame has the unenviable task of redirecting the MCU towards the future. That movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home, looks like an adventure that will redefine the entire universe as we know it. It will not only introduce new Spider-Man villains, but also a whole MCU multiverse. Quentin Beck, AKA v, is said to be from another universe entirely. While Mysterio is known for being a legendary liar, we’re much more inclined to believe Nick Fury. Since he seems to think that a multiverse has been established, who are we to argue?
The movie might also set up new elements like Parker Industries, the Scorpion, and that other awesome Spider-Man, Miles Morales.
We’ll have to wait until July 2nd to see what they decide to do with our favorite web head. Until then, we’ve got plenty of theories for you. This Is How Spider-Man Could Be The Next Iron Man.
