Health insurance is in a developing stage in India where according to the family health survey less than one third of households have atleast one member covered under universal insurance or health scheme . Besides the huge economic and the social costs involved the awareness level regarding a health insurance policy is also far from satisfactory. Are we careful about the terms and conditions of a health policy while filling up the proposal form or we just leave it to the agents? Well recently Supreme Court of India said that failure on the part of a person to reveal past history of disease is a valid ground for rejecting his or her insurance policy benefits, what does this observation mean for the insured, the insurer as well as the health insurance sector in India , how will it impact the lives of the people , joining me now
