Installing roofing sheets on steel frame kit home: Day 2

Here's day 2 of installing roofing sheets on our steel frame kit home, and it's all about going round the corner and getting the angles cut to measure for the slope.

Look, we had no idea going in how hard it was going to be and we definitely made some mistakes along the way - cutting the angle the wrong way, not measuring the sheets so they hung over the gutter properly, mixing up the profile of the sheets every now and then!

Putting up the straight sheets was a dream compared to cutting and lining up the sheets so that the roof ridge was straight and even. Definitely learnt a lot on this day of roofing!

But we got there in the end, with a lot of help from Ed (Storm's dad) and Lloyd (Matt's dad) - where would we be without dads, eh?

We understand that roofing is one of the big trades that many owner builders outsource when building their kit homes. We decided to give it a try and - although tough - are glad that we managed to achieve such a massive undertaking!

FYI - we have used Surfmist Colorbond roofing sheets as part of our colour palette.
