Assalam-0-Alaikum and Welcome to Tech Urdu! The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) launched Device Identification, Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) which blocks stolen, smuggled, duplicate or non-standard identifiers and unregistered cellphones, rendering them useless.

You, then, needed to verify that the phone you’re carrying is either registered with PTA or Not? If you don’t know how to check and verify the status of your phone, please check it here.

There were reports that some persons’ CNIC and Passports numbers were being used in SPAM and different devices were registered on it.
